Chart bar time period does not match T & S

The time period displayed in the charting window and data box appear to be 1 increment ahead of the actual trade.

Example: 5 min OHLC on XLE - Time and Sales trade shows 9:32:13am. Bar chart is 9:35am. Activity on bar chart appears to be accurate, just the time period displayed does not match.

I use T&S analysis and compare it to the same time increment on the bar chart. How do I get them to match?

Apologies if rookie question. I have combed the forum without success.

Data feed is Kinetick.

Thank you for your post.

Within NinjaTrader chart bars will be time stamped based off the close therefore if you are looking at a 5 Minute bar at for example 9:36 the bar will have a time stamp of 9:40.

There currently is not an option to change this to be based off the open however evelopment has assigned this feature request ID #1240 in their tracking system.

Hi Christopher, one quick followup question.

What initiates the new bar? If a trade occurs at 9:40:00, does that go in the 9:45 bar or 9:40 bar? I assume 9:40:01 would go in the 9:45 bar.

The 9:45 bar would include data from 9:40:00 AM through 9:44:59 AM.
