Can I run backtests/analyzer on stocks with free version of ninjatrader?

Hello,

I have the free version of NinjaTrader that gives me EOD data for stocks.

Can I backtest a strategy using this data on stocks?

Can I download market replay intraday data for stocks and use that to backtest?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums!

Yes, you can backtest a strategy on stock data in the strategy analyzer using end of day data. Keep in mind that you would not be able to enter intraday orders as the bars are 1 day and the strategy would only execute once at the end of each day (bar), if the strategy places orders, they would appear on the following day bar.

Regrettably market replay data is not available for stocks. Futures and forex data, for most instruments, are available.

Yes, market replay is available for most common futures instruments, basically 1 year of data is available.
