Connection to latest IB-Gateway build 954 possible?

Hi Ninjas,

All of us IB clients are aware that in order to connect NT7 with IB-Tws, we should use the Tws build version 944.3, so far all is ok. Few days ago I've connected successfully NT7 with the IB-Gateway that comes within the installation of TWS 944.3.

Now I've seen that IB has released a new Tws-version 954, which comes with a new IB-Gateway enhanced version, so I a questions for developers:

For IB-Gateway connection is still a requirement to do it just with the TWS 944.3 version or could I upgrade to the IB-Gateway 954 and having a reliable and stable connection?

I'm very interested in this cause there're certain connections issues that might be solved.

Thank you for your post.

At this time we recommend that only the 944.3 build of Trader Workstation be used with NinjaTrader 7.

Hi Kyle,

As you may sure know TWS is not the same that GATEWAY. IB-Gateway is a communication software piece to its API as TWS but using fewer resources and not GUI, that's why my question. And I've rather preferred to ask you this question before doing any traumatic change in my system to learn. So, if you don't mind, please consider consult my doubt to developers team, perhaps is possible.

IB Gateway in untested in NinjaTrader 7 and is not supported. Many users have been able to connect with IB Gateway previously, however I have heard no reports on the new enhanced IB Gateway. There are no plans to test/support this with NinjaTrader 7.
