Can NT connect to IB-Gateway?

I was wondering if this is possible, since you take advantages of features such as:

- you can prevent the automatic logouts from IB
- Using fewer resources system ( It's known around 40% less )

Yes, this is possible. However please note that it is not officially supported in NinjaTrader 7, but some of our clients have successfully connected NinjaTrader with IB Gateway. You can refer to this YouTube video to know more.

Thanks for your answer, very helpful but I'm still a little confused with that edemo" account, I have doubts regarding to executions, data...etc.

I've seen a couple of videos of people using TWSSTART to make the connection as well, but I don't really like to download anybody's creation without knowing exactly what it does.

Lately I've came across with this interesting post:

Where some guy called RedDuke, has shown how to workaround this connection with NT7. Do you have some other way? What would you recommend as the best way to be trusted for automatic seamlessly trading ?

By the way: is there any recommended version of IB-gateway? Could you please provide a link?

Unfortunately I am not aware of a different way other than the YouTube video.

I suggest to check for user experiences on this forum or other trading fora what is the "best way".

Jason, at least can you answer this?

Given the fact that NT recommends to work with TWS version 944.3, and finally I figure it that IB-Gateway comes within the same installation.......If I'd like to use the IB Gateway but of the last TWS version, would it be ok?

I'm pretty aware that we're talking about subjects "unsupported" but it would be a nice gesture

I connected successfully NT 7.0.1000.30 with IB Gateway 944.3.
