FXCM Index CFDs

With an FXCM UK Live Account connected to the Ninja Trader platform is it necessary to have a live NT license to chart Index CFDs or can it be used with a NT Sim license?

Thanks for your post.

You would be able to chart with your FXCM connection and the SIM license key. You would just not be able to place live trades until you had a live license key for NinjaTrader.

I've just spoken to someone in FXCM UK office and he said that in order to get FXCM data with a live FXCM/Ninja Trader account for Index CFDs it is necessary to have a live NT license not just a SIM.

Please could you clarify as I would like to try out the FXCM data/NT combo before buying the license and NT do not support CFD demo accounts.

Thanks for your reply.
NinjaTrader does not limit what data is supplied from your data provider for any license. If your account is enabled for CFD data on FXCM's side, you will be able to access it in NinjaTrader. If FXCM is saying they will not enable you for real time data for these instruments unless you have a live license, that would be on FXCMs side. I would recommend that you speak with FXCM to verify.
