order working but not in positions window

I`ve got filled/working/pending orders running in the GBPJPY but they are not showing in the positions window, they were, but there was a fill or something I heard "order cancelled" and then the GBPJPY disappeared from the positions window.

I only ever here "order cancelled" by the way, not any of my other audio alerts, I believe they are set up correctly..

    Hello jitterbug,

Please note that there is a difference between orders and positions. Active orders will not show up in the Positions-tab - the Positions-tab only shows open positions.

It seems you were in a GBPJPY position, but it was closed when an order filled. I suspect you had an ATM strategy active, so one order filled (and closed the position) and the remaining order was cancelled (which clarifies why you heard "order cancelled").

Do you hear sound when you connect/disconnect?

I am referring to connecting/disconnecting to your broker/data feed connection at Control Center-->Connections.

maybe because the market is closed now when I disconnected the dialog message read: "there`s no market handler to unsubscribe" and a big error message which I didn't capture. And then NT8 crashed.

Am I supposed to hear the following when they occur?
          "order filled",
when my atm strategy reverses I only here "order cancelled", not "order filled" even though there is a fill on the reverse

Look in the trace file for any remnants of the crash message. It should have made it in there.

                That's your available connections image??

                Go here:

                C:\Users\jittersisawesome\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\trace

There will be a trace file before you crashed.... trace.20151016.000x where x appears to be the # of NT8 runs you had today.

Load in Notepad or something, go to the end, and post the exception.

                  2015-10-16 18:53:58:276 ---- DEBUG ASSERTION FAILED ----
                  ---- Assert Short Message ----
FATAL: there's no market data handler to unsubscribe
                  ---- Assert Long Message ----

I restarted NT8 and the feeds re-appeared, NT must have had a brain nap or something.

I will email the trace file to platform support for a diagnosis incase it helps with anything moving forward

                  thanks Sledge.

my order history has been lost due to this, but my trade performance remains visible and calculable.

                      Hello jitterbug,

Please note that the Control Center-->Orders-tab will only show information for the current day.

Jason is this only when you turn off NT8 that the order history is lost or does it clear itself every 24 hours? I was under the impression that all my orders were there but I had NT running a week non stop.

what about "trades" in the performance report ?
That seems to retain all previous order history.

I`m getting a chart feed for GBPAUD but still not getting a feed in FXPRO for GBPAUD. its been about over a week now. I`ve tried opening a new fxpro window, same issue, even after NT restart.
i`m on this issue in this thread

Yes, I believe it is not removed if you run NinjaTrader non stop.
