    bluelou,
are you serious? Or is it just a promotion for one developer...
If it is true, than it would worth creating some black list of bad developers (on futures.io ?).

And what NT support thinks about it? Is it really possible? I would need to find some good developer, but now I waver over the choice...

    Thank you

      Emuns,
      Yes, it's all true.
NT recommended programmer #1 (based in UK) took me for $500, sent me code that was worthless, and didn't reply even once to my concerns.

NT recommended programmer #2 (based on Long Island, NY ) got over $1500 out of me in advance (last time i ever did that) and took 8 months on a project that he didn't have the skill to do and never completed . During the 8 month duration he had plenty of time to create and sell indicators to NT users.

NT recommended programmer #3 (Muly Oved) was expensive, but he's a top notch developer, and was worth it. He did a full rewrite of the crap code written by programmer #2 and the code worked as anticipated.

It doesn't appear that NT is vetting the coders they're recommending. It would probably be better for NT not to recommend anyone.

The NinjaTrader Ecosystem of companies is provided as a resource clients can use to expand their trading potential. All companies listed are vetted to the best of our ability prior to their listing in order to ensure they have not violated any trading regulations or other such infractions. Specific to the NinjaScript consultants, each of them has their areas of focus potentially making one vendor more appropriate for a task than another. It is up to the engaging client to also vet the company in order to ensure that the consultant meets their requirements prior to engagement. Though this engagement is between the consultant and client, we always take statements of fraud or dishonestly seriously. We check on these items when reported and have had companies removed as a result. I am disappointed to hear that you felt this way through this forum rather than a note to our team expressing your issues which I could have pursued. Going forward if you experience dissatisfaction with any NinjaTrader Ecosystem company, please free email infoATninjatraderecocsytemDOTcom so we can work together to find an amicable resolution.

After reviewing the site, I have a few suggestions and comments though.

When I click on main link for EcoSystems off the NT main site, I get a big disclaimer that I am on my own, then I go to:

http://www.ninjatraderecosystem.com/ and select for example Trading Strategy, then I get a list of potential vendors.

I don't have the first idea of how good these vendors are. It would be all word of mouth or through the forum to find out I guess, or visit each and every vendor's site and do my homework. How would a potential client find out:

          1) If they are any good, or what their rating is
          2) Years of business as a consultant
          3) Language was there, but Country maybe important to me - if I have a complaint and I wanted to take them to court to resolve an issue.
          4) References
          5) Past jobs in the major sections

It would be nice to be able to see a rating systems such as the one EBay has for example. If I purchase something, I can then report back my satisfaction and see comments from previous customers.

NT would be the moderators for a dispute and be able to do something about a complaint.

I really like that NT provides this networking to the community.

I did NOT see any where on the site that would advise the client to "email infoATninjatraderecocsytemDOTcom so we can work together to find an amicable resolution."

If I missed it, sorry, if not, I think this would be a great addition to the site.

            John,
I don't believe that any of these consultants committed fraud or were dishonest. Some of them just aren't good developers and bailed on me when they couldn't complete the project. I took my chances with them and lost, that's my fault. However, my vetting process would have been different if it wasn't for the NT recommendation.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. In the next year the NinjaTrader Ecosystem website is going to be revised similar to the changes we recently made to our main website. Some of the items you mention are being considered for the new site but I cannot comment on what or what not make it into since that is still being discussed but some of the items you mention are included in our discussions.

Specific to learning more about an ecosystem vendor, I would send 2-3 of them exactly what you posted in this thread. They are the best source for this information and since it changes over time an inquiring note at the time of interest is a good vetting approach.

              Happy New Year - John

                NT consultants

                John,
My problem with the experience is that NinjaTrader is calling these developers "Certified Consultants".

Now, my experience was that I got ****ty, unusable code in exchange for just over $2000 after working with 2 of these Certified Consultants. In other words, I got ripped off.

Fine, I made a bad business decision. However, I interpreted the phrase "Certified Consultant " as having something to do with developer quality, competency, and integrity. But, none of those things we're true.

What makes these people "Certified "? This should be spelled out somewhere. Maybe different levels of certification are needed. No certification at all would probably be better.

In response to a p.m. regarding why I hired a developer, this was what I'd consider a project requiring both advanced programming skills and expert level knowledge of NinjaScript. I'm not there yet in terms of programming expertise but I knew my requirements in detail and in advance.

The reason is that this was an intraday strategy. That means, in NT world, I required separate streams for bid, ask, last, as well as bar messages. I required custom order logic as there were conditions on whether my limit orders would be passive or aggressive. Also, among other things, the order chain was complex.

Hi bluelou, I am disappointed to hear that you had a negative experience with 2 NinjaScript consultants. Prior to being approved, they do have to demonstrate NS proficiency by participating in the NS support forum, having a positive development history and providing code examples to our development team. Unfortunately like many disciplines the vetting cannot capture all aspects of what someone is capable of of or where there strengths and weaknesses may be which is why we also suggest additional vetting by the client specific to their exact requirements. Going forward we are looking to expand the level of end user feedback when we relaunch the NinjaTrader ecosystem website. Additionally if someone feels they were taken advantage of or mislead by a partner, we will try to assist as best we can although we cannot ensure any action is taken however if there is a pattern of complaints we have terminated relationships as a result. We will continue to look at ways to best present partners for the benefit of our clients and the feedback you have provided will influence future program changes.

                        John,
Some type of user rating and comments for the Consultants might be a better way to keep tabs on these people. Anyway, thanks for your concern.
