    Unable to load historical data

I got a list of NYMEX futures from Ninjatrader's own instrument manager. I then tried to back test them, only to get the error message, "unable to load historical data" for most of them. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Do I need to enable something? Is there a cleaner list than the source itself?

    Hello,
What Data Provider are you connected to?
What contract month do you have selected for these instruments?
What date range do you have selected?

        Hello,
The contract month would be the month fo the contract you are wnating to trade. For example the contract month for the CL 11-15 is the 11-15.
Are you connected to a Kinetick subcription or Kinetick End Of Day?
What interval type are you backtesting against? For example minute, tick, day etc.
I look forward to your reply.

          Looks like they were varied.

I have a full Kinetick subscription.

          I was using tick.

...I think I found the problem. In Instrument Manager I set type to future and exchange to nymex. I then searched, and it gave me symbols from many different exchanges. Is there a better way to get a symbol list? I have been around this several times. I even entered about 900 symbols by hand, only to have the majority rejected by the computer. Kinetick says the best way to get a symbol list is to use Instrument Manager.

            Hello,
The exchange drop down is not a filter option only the Type dropdown, the Name Field , and Description are.
The only method to creating the instrument lists for futures is to add them in one by one. Please see the following link on creating an instrument list. http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...ment_lists.htm

I am obviously aware of how to create an instrument list, but I can't find a list of symbols to put into that list that ninjatrader or kinetick will accept. Can you help with that?

                Hello,
There is not a method to search within the instrument manager all instruments that your Kinetick subscription accepts or by a certain exchange. I will submit a feature request on this for consideration to be implemented into future versions of NinjaTrader.
