Is there a way to automatically generate event flags on chart indicators?

is there a way to automatically generate marks/flags on a chart indicator when
that indicator has [e.g.] changed up/down direction?

Thanks for your post.

Regrettably there is no automatic means to accomplish this. You would need to custom code the markers into the indicator(s).

If you are not inclined to modify indicators an alternate approach is to use the strategy wizard to create a strategy that will add markers (and/or sounds/alerts). Here is a youtube video on this subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vt0s...A14C398CA140D7

will the markers remain permanently on the daily bar chart so that i can see all of them as they have been generated over time?

The markers will remain as long as the strategy is in place.
