    Historical daily downloads slow

    Hello,

    I am new to NinjaTrader but I noticed if I just download today's (i.e. ONE day of data) end of day Historical data connected to Kinetic feed and using my i7 Windows7 computer, that it takes about 2 hours for about 6000 stocks or so. Is thee any way to speed this up? (I unchecked "Get Data from Server" but it didn't seem to help).

      good point. I use a portable USB 3G air card/modem.

        Hello,

        There is no way to speed the rate at which data downloads aside from using a faster internet connection. With that said, once data has been downloaded subsequent downloads should progress more quickly with the settings which you mentioned as NinjaTrader would use data which is locally cached and download only new data moving forward.

          Ummm.... try 4G?!! Or a real connection?

          It's probably sending out 6,000 requests - that's going to take some serious time on 3G.. especially if it is some slow 3G.

            The problem I noticed when I uncheck the Get Data from Server box, it will NOT run my backtest. It doesn't appear to download data for the backtest or do anything in the Strategy Analyzer, only when I check the box again.

              The file is located in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder. I would need the 'trace.20150909.txt' file.
