Understanding NT time and sale

Hi,

i'm new to futures trading and i'm using CQG continuum as data provider. I would like to know more about time and sale . If a trader initiate a 15 lots buy and managed to get the position filled from 3 different trader of 5 lots sell. Would like to know how time and sales manage the print. Will the T&S print a single 15 lots buy or 3 prints of 5 lots sell or print both . Hope someone could clarify my doubt. Thx

Hello voluma,

It would print 3 trades of 5 lots. The Time and Sales window shows last traded time, price and size.

Thanks for the prompt response, do you mind to elaborate more why it's 3 trades of 5 lots sell instead of single trade of 15 lots buy. It's related to data provider bundle / un-bundled feed ? Thx

The buy order for 15 contracts is not a trade yet when you submit it. After the order is partially executed three times, each for 5 contracts, it is recorded as 3 trades.

So based on your feedback, if the 15 contracts is not partially filled/executed, it will display as single trade of 15 contracts buy on T&S. Do correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks

Yes, if the order executes as a whole, it will be listed as a single trade of 15 contracts.
