    start error winXP

    Hello,

    on the computer with winXP there appear almost every time when starting NT the error messages I attach here.

    Every time when I want to start NT I have to run a Microsoft FixIt ProgrmUninstall tool and then perfome NT-setup again. This happens now for about a months or so.

    There is no Virus on the PC, scanning every time, and I have added NT to the exceptions for firewall, virus and sonar of Norton Internet Security.

    Thank you for contacting us and for your forum post.




    This message indicates that the NinjaTrader uninstaller file is missing. In most cases, this will occur if a clean-up program that deletes temp files has been running or if the temp files were deleted manually.
    To resolve this situation, you will need to run the Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp utility listed below. Once the utility is running, select NinjaTrader from the list and select Remove. It will then be possible to reinstall NinjaTrader successfully.

    Click the following link:


    Press “Run Now” and run from location.


    • Once the Fix it Tool has launched Accept the Microsoft terms.
    • Detect problems and let me select the fixes to apply -> Once the scan has finished select Uninstalling
    • Select NinjaTrader 7 from the list -> Select all check boxes -> Next -> “Yes, try uninstall”
    • Once complete it will either give a successful or error message and the utility can be closed out.


    After the utility has been run and NinjaTrader has been removed, re-download NinjaTrader:

      Hello,

      thank you for your reply. I do this almost every day (I wrote it in my question)

      The message shows some information about 64 (?)

      Isnt winXP 32bit and the error caused by this? Because on my computer with win7 there is no issue like this.

      And I do not delete manually any installer, and as I mentioned I have added NT to the exceptions. Maybe I have to add this installer file. Which is it please? And in which folder it is usually?

        Thank you for the follow up.


        If you need to run the Fixit tool every time you launch NinjaTrader, there may be something going on with your filesystem on the Windows XP hard drive.

        To troubleshoot the situation we can run a System File Check.
        • Click Start > Type in "CMD" into the search field
        • Right click on the "CMD" icon that appears > Run as Administrator...
        • In the Command Prompt window type "sfc /scannow" and hit enter.



        Windows will begin scanning the file system for any errors and will automatically repair any errors it finds if possible.


        In regards to the tmp64.tmp error message, this is most likely a random number and not related to 32-bit and 64-bit versions of NinjaTrader.


        What anti-virus or firewall program are you using? I can follow up with more information on how to add a program to the list of exceptions or exclusions.

        You need to add the following folders/files:
        • C:\Users\<WINDOWS USER NAME>\Documents\NinjaTrader 7
        • C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7
        • C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\bin\NinjaTrader.exe
        • C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 7\bin\NinjaTrader.exe

          Thank you for your reply.


          Start-Searchfield is in win7 but not in winXP, please correct me if I´m wrong.
          When I do search cmd in winXP there appears a big list.
          And there doesnt appear an icon to right click.

          I have done so in start-execute (if translated correctly) and there appears prompt\docuemnts\administrator. There I have done sfc/ scannow. When finished it shows the same window (pls see attachment).

          I use NortonInternetSecurity and I have added now the folder and files the exclusions, not all have been there. ProgramsX86 I cant find on the PC.

              Hello,

              thank you for your support.

              When running the fixit for uninstalling there appeared this time first time an error message and should try to find a solution in the web (I couldn´t find)

              When trying to install there appears the message that windows installer found a problem.

              When running fixit again, there doesn´t appear NinjaTrader anymore in the list to select (at this place of alpahbetical order there is now "Name not available" (translation of mine!)

              And there are no files with 20150825 (because I couldnt start NT, I assume)
