Adding Labels to Charts

When many charts are open it can be confusing. Is there a way to add a custom name / visible label to a chart - e.g. simple text appearing on the chart like "ABC' or "XYZ" to keep them straight?

This is not currently possible in NinjaTrader.

I will forward this suggestion to the development team for consideration in future versions of NinjaTrader.

I do know of a work around that may work for you, although this label will appear within the chart window and not on the top chart window label bar:

Using a chart template you could modify one of the applied indicators to have a template label since you can give your indicators a unique name and if you did that for an indicator with your template name then your indicator would show the template name. Leaving the field blank will remove the label from being displayed on the chart. Enclosing a label in quotations ("MyEMA" for example) will display what's within the quotations and exclude the system added trailing series information. For example:

• Right click in the chart and select Indicators.
• In the Indicators menu, select an indicator which is applied to Panel 1 from the list on the lower left side of the menu.
• On the right side of the menu, enter different text in the 'label' field. (For example "CHART THREE" )
• 'CHART THREE' will then be shown in the upper left side of the chart, allowing you to more easily identify the chart in use.
• (Note: You can use any indicator and set its color to transparent so it does not visually plot.)
