Problem with Text

I am having this problem with the Text object (F12) in my NT 7.0.1000.29 , when I try to write in the General tab nothing happens , but if I copy and paste text from a text editor the text shows up, could you help?

You press F12 =>

Click on the point on the chart you want the text =>

A box opens up for the text and parameters =>

Type what you want in the main box and change parameters accordingly!

Just done it - it works a treat!

Yes i did this hundred times but last days when i type in the box nothing shows.
That's the problem.
