    Connection Problems

    I am trying to connect NinjaTrader from Parallels Desktop 10 / Windows 8.1 to my Rithmic Feed.

    The Log says:
    Connecting to NinjaTrader data server (HDS3.NinjaTrader.com/31654) and keeps on trying
    to connect without any repsonse until i quit NinjaTrader.

    In the bottom left corner of the Control Center is just says: Connecting - Rythmic.
    All other Connections (External data feed, end of day etc.) are connecting in seconds.

    The internet connection is bridged and all sharing options between osx and the vm have been disabled.

    any ideas?

    Hi mk77ch, thanks for your post.

    The External, End of Day, and Simulated datafeeds will connect almost automatically for most users.

    I recommend the following steps to resolve:

    Please use the steps below to change your Time Zone and sync the PC clock, note to set the server to time.nist.gov.
    You can sync your PC clock by double clicking on the clock in the lower right corner of your desktop. Press 'Change time zone...' Set the Time zone and press 'OK'.
    Once you have done that, click on Internet Time tab set the server to time.nist.gov and then click Update. Your PC clock should now be updated.

    Afterward, follow these steps:

    * Reset your instruments. To reset your instruments: disconnect from any active connections (via the Control Center > File > Disconnect menu), then from the Control Center, navigate to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Data tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'. Afterwards, shut down NinjaTrader.
    * If you are not already and the option is available to you, connect to the internet using an ethernet cable. Wireless connections are significantly more unreliable.
    * Ensure exceptions have been added into any firewall/antivirus/backup programs for the (My) Documents/NinjaTrader 7 folder.
    * Restart your modem and (if applicable) router, then test to see if you experience the same.

      hi alex,

      thank you very much for your message.
      sadly those fixes didnt solve the connection issue.

      the situation is still the same even after reinstalling ninjatrader again.
      - ninjatrader is added to the windows firewall
      - the vm has internet access
      - i am able to connect to external, end of day etc. data feeds

      but i cant connect to my rithmic feed.

        In that case, please send in a copy of your current configuration file to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com for further analysis.


        * You will find your configuration file in the following directory:
        * (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7\config.xml
