    merge policy question

    Hello,
I watch a bunch of futures contracts on a daily basis, including softs, metals, agriculturals, bonds and index futures, and I would like to be able to change the merge policy for only one contract, not for every workspace, every contract, that I follow. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to do that--the only way I know to change merge policy is to do it globally, for every contract, as follows:
    Control Center
    tools
    options
    Data
    merge policy
Is there some other way to change the merge policy for just one contract symbol at a time?
    Thanks,
    Tasuki

Hi Tasuki, thanks for your post.

Yes, you can change the merge policies on individual instruments by navigating to the Control Center > Tools > Instrument Manager window, left-clicking the 'Edit' button after you've selected the instrument you'd like to apply this change to, then changing the 'Merge policy:' setting.

      Alex,
Sorry, that didn't seem to work. Every contract I trade is now set to "DoNotMerge" after changing the setting as you described for only the Dec contract of CT (Cotton). Please try this on your own and see if you get the same result. Thanks,
      Tasuki

Hi Tasuki, thanks for your reply.

No, I do not receive the same result when performing the process I described. It sounds as though you changed the global merge policy setting under the Control Center > Tools > Options > Data tab, which would not be the process I was referring to.

        * Navigate to the Control Center > Tools > Instrument Manager window
        * In the 'Name:' field, type CT
        * In the search results that appear in the large center field, left-click to select the CT instrument, then left-click the Edit button
        * Modify the 'Merge policy:' setting from 'UseGlobalSettings' to your desired merge policy setting
        * Left-click OK. You might wish to re-add the CT front month to any lists it is added to in order to double-check that this change has been populated correctly.
        * Reload historical data on your charts (right-click on a chart > left-click Reload All Historical Data)
