profit target not where I set it

Hello

I am just now starting my hand at learning ATM strategies. I have watched webinars and I can not figure out what my problem is.

To test it out, I am using the Simulated Connection and trading Forex.

I have created a very basic ATM strategy with a stop that is 500 pips away and a profit target that is 20 pips, but when the order is placed, it is only taking a 10 pip profit.

I am attaching a couple of screenshots to show what I am doing. could somebody please help me problem solve this?

Hello jg123,

Can you please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Data-tab and check the 'Quote currencies (FX) in' setting. I suspect it is set to HalfPip. Please set it to Pip and click OK. Subsequently check if ATM strategies function as expected.

Thank you, Jason. That did the trick. You were absolutely right.

One more question, I would actually like to set an ATM without a stop - but when I try to do that, using the screen shown previously, it tells me that it is missing a stop value. 1.) is it possible to set an ATM without a stop? 2.) How would I actually go about doing that?

Unfortunately this is not possible. An ATM strategy must contain a stop loss.

You could just submit a limit order manually that functions as a profit target.

Okay, and then theoretically I could set the stop loss to 500+ pips until it meets certain requirements where it will then move the stop to Break Even and ultimately trail it.

This is possible when using an ATM strategy and setting up an AutoTrail and AutoBreakeven.
