Label horizontal line with alert

but I can't see how to launch it/use it. Can anyone help?

I would like to label various drawing objects including lines, rectangles, arrows etc, with alerts if possible. Are there any other indicators that can do this?

Duh...why doesn't NinjaTrader do this out of the box as most other platforms do?

Thanks for your post.

To use this indicator right click on your chart and select Indicators
Select the indicator and press New
Adjust the parameters as you would like and select OK

This indicator is just for horizontal lines.

Below is another similar indicator that does this with more drawing objects.

To be able to do all that you are looking for would require a custom script.
If you do not know NinjaScript or do not have the time you can contact a 3rd party NinjaScript consultant to make this for you.

Development is taking this feature into consideration.

It looks like you have it properly set. Now when you draw horizontal lines on the charts they will be labeled and have alerts.

Oh, so it's only labelled with the price? I wanted to add "Go long here", or "Jan 2013 Low" etc. This is basic stuff and I'm amazed this isn't available in NinjaTrader,

Also how do I default the ATM to adding a new contract with separate target/stop, rather than adding to the existing/active contract?

Thanks for your reply.

I recommend using the Text drawing tool to place the desired text next to individual lines.

For the ATMs you will need to right click on your chart trader and select Properties.
Under ATM Strategy Selection Mode select "Keep Selected ATM Strategy Template on Order Submission"

Thanks for the tip about the ATM, got that working now thanks.

Static labels are not a lot of use ~ if I mark the top of the market with a horizontal line on 17th April, when we come back to that line in a few days/weeks/months time I'm not going to be able to see the label without scrolling all the way back!

I agree. This would be a great feature. Perhaps someone could code this using the existing 'LabelHorzLinesAlerts' indicator as a reference? We could try the Indicator Development forum.
