Install on Win Server 2012

Hi, I just spun up a Win 2012 SP1 VPS, and am stuck trying to install NT. The setup process tells me I need .NET 3.5 - and offers to go get it for me, but when I do that, it fails to install.

I tried d/l & install .NET Framework 4.5.1 - it says it is already installed.

This is perhaps more a 2012 server issue - I have lots of experience on desktop, but have never worked on Server platforms... Can anyone offer a solution?

Could it be you experience the same error when you try to install .NET Framework 3.5? If so, I suggest to try the solution posted and check if this will work for you.
