    serializing indicators?

    Hello,
Just got an error message (see attachment) while backing up my Ninjatrader. Message said to check Help for more information on "serializing indicators". I typed that phrase into the search box in Help and got "No Topics Found". So, what does this message mean? Does it mean that the backup didn't go properly?a And why does it say to read all about it in Help only to have no information there?
    Thanks,
    Tasuki

    Hello Tasuki,

    Thanks for writing in.

This is a default indicator of NinjaTrader. To resolve I would recommend reinstalling NinjaTrader.

Following these steps will not affect your data, settings, configuration, NinjaScripts, Workspaces, etc.

First save your license key to a document
You can locate your license key by going to Help> License Key
Now exit NinjaTrader and uninstall it within Windows Control Center
Once uninstalled you can redownload NinjaTrader from the link below

Under Current User paste your license key
    Select Download NinjaTrader
Download and install Version 7.0.1000.27 (Current)

Wow, reinstall? OK, but first, what does "serializing" mean, anyway? Will the lack of serializing make the updown volume ndicator inaccurate?

        Hello Tasuki,

        Thanks for your reply.

This error is either a coding issue with the indicator or a workspace/template having settings from a different version of the indicator that is not valid with the current ones settings.

I'm also having this problem and have done the re-install but still have the problem. What do I do next?

            Hello Taddypole,

            Thanks for your reply.

For what indicator are you getting this error for?

The indicator is called aChannelIndicatorTwo and you can see it applied to the chart attached.

Thanks, Taddypole. If a re-install doesn't solve the problem, I guess I'll wait before re-installing to see what other answers the tech folks come up with. I'm curious what's causing this problem, and how wide-spread it is among users (and how serious it is--if a non-serializing indicator gives false results, then we're in trouble, but if it's just a harmless glitch, maybe we can ignore it?). Tech support, please weigh in on this, and thanks!

                  Hello Taddypole,

                  Thanks for your reply.

When applying the indicator in my NinjaTrader I get the same error. This indicates the indicator is the issue and you will need to contact the vendor/developer to resolve.

Tasuki, your error comes from a built in indicator which does not have any issues. You will need to first complete the reinstall of NinjaTrader. If this does not resolve it you will need to rebuild your workspace and any templates that have the indicator applied to it

                      Thank you Brandon,

Unfortunately, I'm the developer of that indicator and I don't understand what that error message is telling me.

                          Thanks Brandon,

The '[XmlIgnore()]' was the key. Added those and all is good...
