importing apple vix

I am trying to create in the instrument manager the apple vix. I am connected to yahoo as data provider. I have followed all instructions to add the yahoo symbol for apple vix which is ^VXAPL..

I clicked index and cboe.

When I try to open a chart I get a message no data for the symbol.

If possible a step by step answer would be appreciated. Cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

Thanks for posting today and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums.

The charts would not load data because the ^VXAPL index does not have historical data provided from Yahoo.

Without the historical data the chart will not load.

However, Kinetick does provide historical data for this instrument using the instrument symbol

VXAPL.XO
