Crude oil data not showing correctly

crude oil futures (CL) 2min bar chart is not showing correctly. everytime I create a new chart a very long bar appears and I don't see this on IB's TWS chart.
How can I fix this? It's very frustrating.

    Hello frank8h,

    Thanks for your post.

What expiry have your selected for the CL?
Who are you connected to for data? This is displayed in green at the bottom left of the Control Center.

        Hello frank8h,

        Thanks for your reply.

The CL is not set to rollover in NinjaTrader until the 18th.

If you want to view data only for the selected contract you would need to go to Tools> Options> Data> Merge Policy and select DoNotMerge
Then right click on your chart and select Reload All Historical Data

If you want to keep the merge policy of MergeBackAdjusted you would need to customize the rollover date.
See the video below on how to do this.

I have the same problem as frank8h. When I switch to a new CL contract I get this really huge bar. It goes away when I reload data, but then if I make any changes to the chart such as a drawing object or add/change/remove and indicator the big bar comes back...

          any suggestions?

            Hi,

The CL 06-15 is not programmed to rollover until 4/18/2016 by default, so if you're attempting to chart this contract before the programmed rollover date, you will see the effect you mentioned due to the merge policy.

You will need to reconfigure and customize your rollover date for this contract if you plan on charting it now - here is a video which demonstrates how to do this:

NinjaTrader 7 Tips - Adjust & Customize Roll Over Dates

You will want to ensure you have adjusted the 06-15 expiry and that you select a date which occurs before today (4/15/2015 for example).

After you have made this change, right click on your chart and select 'reload all historical data' and your chart should be properly merged.

I should have been more clear. I ran into this problem even after doing everything mentioned above by Brsndon. I was able to get it fixed though from reset/clearing the db, etc. found in another thread.
