Hello

When looking at Periods Tab on the Strategy Analyzer, are the periods based on when the trade was opened or when it was closed?

For Example: 11:00 AM Hourly Period

Are these Trades opened between 11 am - 12 pm?

Are they closed between 11:00 am - 12 pm?

Are the opened between 10:00 am - 11:00 am?

Are the closed between 10:00 am - 11;00?

They are based on the closing time of the trade. I am not sure when the trade was opened, but it was closed between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

Is there a way to change that?

I mean, when a trade's Entry/Exit times cross a period boundary, is there a way to select which period the trade belongs to?

From the previous post, it appears the answer is "no" because (presumably) the Exit time is always used to select the period the trade belongs to.

I'd like to use Entry times to select which period the trade belongs to.

Why?

Because when backtesting, I'd like to answer the question, "for all trades entered in the first hour of ES's open, how did those trades perform?"

Is there a way to do this in NinjaTrader 7?

If not in NT7, is there a way to do this NT8?

Unfortunately this is not supported in NinjaTrader 7.

It is supported in NinjaTrader 8 which has the "Time base" setting in the Periods-tab which can be set to Entry Time or Exit Time
