    Better a cumulative backup

    Hi Ninjas,

I'm having a rough week cause my Ultrabook's SSD unit went fried. Now, little by little I'm going back, I'm taking all steps in order to reduce the Write-Erase process in the new unit to stretch its lifespan.

Every week I do my necessary Ninjatrader backup, and it always comes a large file around 5Gb, which I must comprise to Zip and store away. Since the large original file in the SSD unit is not longer necessary, is erased in order to recover necessary free space. I'm been thinking that maybe NT could be able to do "Cumulative Backup". What I mean by is that it should be great that NT could use the las old Backup, add all new data and close it again, having an updated backup, and through this way to avoid the heavy step to write and erased such a large file.

Does this exist right now, and could learning how?

Any help would be appreciated as always

    Thanks

    Hello pstrusi,
    Thank you for your post.
Unfortunately this is not a feature within NinjaTrader.
I will submit this as a feature request though for consideration by our development team to be implemented in future versions of NinjaTrader.
If we can be of any other assistance please let me know.

I think that your fried SSD probably could handle many more R/W and erase cycles than you could have accumulated. Doubtful that was the reason. I have seen SSD's die after a couple months usage for unknown reasons.

Yes Danny is very possible, but after long 4 years and with less space through the time, one must study smart ways to optimize process that are possible to get better.
