Replacing a shared indicator with an updated version
I've uploaded an indicator to the file sharing section, and make some changes and would like to replace the old file with the new one. I can edit the text fine, and it appears that I can change the file, but after uploading the new file, the old one is still downloaded when clicking on it.

I am trying to replace a shared indicator with an update. I have the same problem, can change text, image, and upload new Indicator, but the old one is still stuck there.
I checked in different browser app, so it's not my cache. I am not in the discussion forum.

Have you tried changing the name of the zip file? For example:Originally posted by saltminer View PostI am trying to replace a shared indicator with an update. I have the same problem, can change text, image, and upload new Indicator, but the old one is still stuck there.

Hi Ray,
yes I am uploading a file "TimeHistogramSuiteVer1.21.zip"
It should replace the current file which is "TimeHistogram_ver1.1.zip"
Still no joy. Tried again just now.
Am using FireFox. Also tried Explorer 8. Can't get it to work. I also don't seehow to delete the whole entry to start again.
Cheers,

saltminer,
When you replace a file and still have the "Rename" field filled out it will change the file name to whatever is in that rename field. This may be why it seems like it is not replacing the file, but if you actually check the file contents you will find the file is updated.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Ah yes, the download is in fact the recent upload but with the old file name. Cute feature, but my original file name contains a version number, so now it looks out of date.
For the life of me I can't find the "rename" field you mention. Can you tell me where it is? Sorry for newbie-type "how to use the forum" question.
Thanks,
saltminer

I checked into the permissions and unfortunately could not find a setting that would toggle the display of this field. Likely a template somewhere that shows something different for a registered user vs a moderator. I will put this on our list to check into once we get past NT7.Originally posted by saltminer View PostYes, you would think so. Except, see my screen capture.
It looks like this in both FireFox and IE 8.RayNinjaTrader Customer Service
