EMA 200 needs more bars in custom indicator

Hi there,

I'm developing an indicator that uses a 200 period EMA.

I think it needs more bars to compute a correct value. If I add the EMA indicator by itself to the market analyzer I found I had to give it more than the 50 bar default to get it to be correct. I'm getting similar values inside my custom indicator.

how do I provide more bars to the EMA(200)[0] inside a custom indicator?

Thank you for your note.

In the Market Analyzer indicators will use 50 bars of historical data by default.

You can increase this to any number you would like.

To call an EMA(200) with 200 bars and get an accurate result, you will need to have at least 200 bars of historical data.

The amount of historical data is controlled by either the chart data series or the parameter in the Market Analyzer. It cannot be controlled from the indicator itself.
