Connecting via Automated Trading Interface

Hello!

Suppose, I implement software component with the following functionality:
1. Retrieving the tick data from my trading terminal(haven't found any other free way to do it)
2. Monitoring connection state of a terminal
3. Uploading missing ticks if a disconnection is occured
4. Using ATI supply this data to NT(functions Ask, Bid, Last and AskPlayback, BidPlayback, LastPlayback)

What is the difference between this component and market data feed from supported sources(eSignal, rithmic, etc)?

aks19, for a few symbols you could perhaps do that, but I would not expect the same performance and redundancy from such a solution compared to a full fledged feed. You would also not be able to load any historical data over the interface.

NinjaTrader_Bertrand, please clarify the following:
1. What do you mean under "for a few symbols you could perhaps do that"? Do you mean that translation of each new ticker in this way will reduce overall performance?
2. What will be with the tick data loaded in this way? Will they be stored in some way?
3. Do I understand right that in this way NinjaTrader will paint me the correct charts(bars of any timeframe) and indicators like footprint will work correctly?

Correct, charts can be driven from this data and received data would be stored if a chart or MA column with an indicator is running pulling the data, the interface's primary use is order generation for externally connected applications not 'datafeed' use, so that's why I commented that I would not expect performance to compare to a 'true' feed here.
