No dada on volume chart for some symbols

I tried what was done on this thread

but it i didn't work. I've closed out and restarted and also closed out and started new charts but still get the same result. Not sure what to do now since everything I've tried gets the same result.

forgot to add i'm using v 7.0.1000.22 and using IB for data

Interactive Brokers does not supply historical volume or tick data in NinjaTrader.

To receive historical tick data you will need to connect to a data provider that supports historical tick data in NinjaTrader.

You can save incoming real time data on a chart to your PC to be used as historical data later.

To do this you will need to go to Tools > Options > Data tab, check the box 'Save chart data as historical' and press OK.

i'm not looking for historical data, i'm just trying to have it chart in real time, for some reason now vxx is updating along with baba but spy which has obviously traded still looks the same

Is the SPY updating in TWS?

If so, please right click on the chart and select Data Series.

Then in the Data Series window select Session template, set to Default24/7 and pres OK
