    GC Roll Over date

    Hi,

I need to clarify how to check roll over dates that are set in NT to make sure each time I change contracts the roll over date is correct. Through the instrument manager I navigate my way to I get to the Contract Months window and select the contract month. For this example I'll use GC (gold) current contract month which is now 02-15.
I select 02-15 and it displays the Rollover date as 28/11/2014. (how is this determined?)

    I visit http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/meta...r_futures.html
and the settlement date for Feb15 is 25-02-2015

I had trouble with GC in the past and cannot remember how to check this?

    Any help would be appreciated..

    Regards
    Bruce

    Hello tacticaltrader,

The date of Nov 28th, 2014 is used as the rollover date for the 02-15 contract because this is the date of the first notice that the 12-14 contract expiry is ending.

Similarly the rollover date for the 04-15 is Jan 30th.

Attached is a screenshot highlighting this.
