Managing Margins

Hi there,

I'm really unfamiliar with the functionality Ninja Trader has around margins.

If I go Instrament Manager > "Margin Value" and put in the margin my broker requires for a particular instrament (curently they are all zero). Will Ninja trader start managing margins for me during trading?

For example, lets say the balance of my account is $20,000 and for the FDAX my broker requires a margin of $18,248 - - will Ninja trader restrict me from buying two contracts?

Any links to additional information will be very much appreciated.

Hi Michelle, the margins set there would be used in backtesting when you're using the ByAccountSize method to determine order quantity for your strategies - https://www.ninjatrader.com/support/...ccountsize.htm
