Flat position ???

Hi, friends
I can read in NinjaTrader's users manual, in the chapter :

"On starting a real-time strategy : Wait until flat before executing live
When starting a NinjaScript strategy hat relies on historical data for calculating its current positions and order states, i twill wait until the strategy position has reached or crossed a flat position before executing any live orders.

Could you please precise me what exactly means a " FLAT POSITION" ?

Hello,
A flat position is when you are neither long nor short thus all trades have been exioted. What is occurring is theoretical historical positions are being placed and theoretical positions are created. What is occurring is you are in a theoretical historical position currently.
If I can be of any other assistance please let me know.
