Forex point value setting?

Hello,

I am stugling with the correct settings on both FXCM commission setup and simulator setup.

What would be the correct settings if I would like to use 0.01 contract size on EURUSD?

- In instrument editior point value ?

- For cost settings let's say average ECN trading costs which would be 2 pips?

- In strategy analyzer, what would be the default trading size?

Hi Dennis, so you would be trading 1000 units or a micro lot here?

The point value should not be changed, just enter the unit value directly (1000) in the Strategy Analyzer as default quantity then.

The spread could be simulated by setting the slippage value accordingly.

I just need a reference in balance between point value,trading units and commission costs.

I am going a factor 10 wrong somewhere.

So point value: 100.000

tradingsize 1000 units

Can you please give me example what trading/commision costs would be for a average ECN broker with information given above?

Dennis, we would not really have such an example, it will vary per broker and if they charge a commission separate from the spread or if it would be all factored into the spread you pay.
