IB TWS Freezes when Ninja connects

I am using IB TWS 882 and Ninja 6.0.10

When Ninja connects to IB it causes IB to Freeze, when submitting orders it places the order but does not get any confirmations back. Resulting in multiple orders being sent through, with no fill confirmation even though order was filled, quite dangerous.

I am also getting a max number of tickers reached 101 message but data is still coming through, to the DOM but only the first bid ask, and no market depth even though its enabled.
Is there a way to delete any old settings from Ninja which may be causing this, as I tried reinstalling IB and still have the issue

Separate question, would upgrading to 6.5 Help, as I couldnt see the release notes in the new help file for 6.0?

    a) which instrument is this?
    b) are you placing order on live or the Sim101 account?
    c) is this IB demo, paper trade or live account?

I have two lines HSI - Hang Seng for April month and MHI for April
Order is live, and live IB account.

Been on the phone with IB they think its due to the java version, which I had which is 1.6, I downgraded java to 1.5 release 14 this morning and problem still persists.

IB is fine on its own however the moment Ninja connects, it freezes the only thing I found of relevance in the log is the Max number of tickers has been reached 101,

This is strange because I only have two lines and IB allows 100,

Sorry, not sure what you mean by "lines".

I suggest retrying with a setup where only the control center is open (no chart, DOM etc.) and then placing an order for the instrument in question on the control center and see if that makes any difference.

By lines I mean rows of market data in the IB TWS workstation. I thought there was a cap on the rows/ lines of data. I have deleted every row and data and it still freezes.

I also placed the order manually via Ninja and the order executes in IB, I could execute
both buy and sell, but what I noticed in Ninja
there was no position coming through on the positions tab

maybe this is what happened earlier this morning. Orders were being executed and no position info coming back, but in reality i had double the positions open??

There is also no depth data coming through even though this is enabled in the DOM

Sorry not sure what you mean by "freezes".

              Let's see what we have:
              - you can place an order in NT no problem
              - this order gets executed in TWS no problem
              - the order fill makes it back to NT no problem
              - however, the position in the positions tab does not update

              is this correct?

Sorry not sure what you mean by "enabled in the DOM". Where in the DOM are trying to enable market depth data?

Data issue could be related to the "max numbers of tickers reached" issue below.

Dierk, fyi there seems to be a general problem with any TWS API
connections in the last few hours, there is a discussion
                  about it here:

If I right click on the dom and go to the properties in the row it has a true false setting for enabling market depth data in the dome

Ahh .. thanks for the hint. That could explain the confusion. Eagle, please contact IB support again. There appears to be something going on on IB's end.

I just saw that thanks DWG, I thought I was going nuts. I had the market move 50 points and I couldnt get out.

I guess its time to change brokers
