    Problems connecting to IB TWS

    Hi,

    Recently getting this error....two windows when trying to connect to IB:

    1. - Login failed: TWS closed socket (no more data to read)
    2. - IB: TWS forced your connection to close. NT is unable to automatically reconnect. Please shut down NT and reconnect manually to TWS: No more data to read.

    All sockets, activeX and DDE clients are enabled. Currently running IB feed on Enisgn and zerolinetrader with no problem.

    What version of NinjaTrader are you using? You can check under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X)

    What version of TWS are you using? You can check under TWS -> Help -> About -> Scroll to the Build #

        Hello Stok,

        Thank you for your response.

        Please upgrade NinjaTrader to the latest release. To upgrade NinjaTrader, please follow these steps:
        • Locate and copy your license key, Under Control Center > Help > License Key
        • Control Center > Help > Download Site
        • Shut Down NinjaTrader
        • Paste your License Key in the License Key Field > Download
        • Download version, NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.25
        • Once downloaded, please launch the Installer by Double Clicking
        • After the installer has finished, you may start NinjaTrader

        In addition, you must have standalone Traders Workstation (TWS) version 944.3 (browser version is not supported) installed:*http://www.ninjatrader.com/ninjatrad...tall_944_3.exe

            same problem

            Hello,
            I'm having the same problem as others. But the linked file here


            comes up as infected in the web root. So I'm not about to take chances with it. I've tried other versions of the IB standalone desktop. But to no avail. I'm using the latest trial version of the ninja trader and as mentioned numerous versions of IB desktop software.

            Any help would be great!

              I'm frankly not sure why the file would be flagged by your system however I can confirm that the file which resides at the link you provided is safe to use.

                okay yeah I'm not sure. But it works. Hopefully want to have any virus issues. It does come up clean on virus total. So should be all right

                  Hi Patrick, I am connecting an automated program in NT7 to my paper account with Interactive brokers. I am getting data feed from IB to NT but the trades in the automated program are not activating in my IB paper account. I am using the free version of NT is this the problem. Do you need a paid subscription to be able to make the trades active in the IB paper account?

                    Hello,

                    The free version of NinjaTrader is able to place trades in NinjaTrader's internal simulation account, Sim101, only. In order to place trades in an external account (including an external paper trading account) a live version license would be required.

                    I hope that this helps to clear things up however if other questions come to mind please let me know.

                          Kyle, I am in Canada is it possible to set up a brokerage account with NT and then I will not have to use IB to execute the trades.
