Strategies and an Indicator's Calculate on Bar Close

I think what I am about to ask is obvious, but just in case my obvious is not the same as NT's obvious I will ask anyway.

If an indicator has the Calculate on bar close property set to True, then if checking for the indicators value in a strategy means I would be looking at 1 bar back (i.e,. not the bar index of of 0). Correct?

mcatmull, correct setting this to true means you work with the last closed bar, not the currently developing / open one.

Bar index 0 can actually have different meanings then depending on this setting.

Okay, so it is not so obvious then...

So just to be clear, if the strategy initially had the property "Calculate on bar close" set to true, is the bar index 0 for the bar that is "closed" or the one that is currently being built?

The bar index 0 would be that last closed bar, not the one being built.
