How do i change a message alert audio sound effect?

I get ''no results found'' for ''windows media player''.
I do get a result for ''windows media center'' but I have already explained my problem with that.?

Sorry you're having these problems.

May I suggest you download 'Real Player' (just google this and you'll find the link). This will definitely do the trick!

just discovered that media player does not even have to be started.
one needs merely to double click on the wav file in the sounds folder and the sound plays.
how 'bout that for simple.
