Hello,
Thank you for the question.
Because anyone can develop indicators this is a great question to ask.
To directly answer your question, we have not had any reports of anything malicious specifically. Being that the platform is very open I could say that this could potentially be possible if someone were to want to do this. The thing is though that you would first need to download and install the item before it could do any harm, so this is where you come in.
In my opinion you should download indicators and other addons for NinjaTrader just as you would browse and download from the web.
You should always keep your security in mind when you are online and try to collect as much information you need to make an educated decision on the item you are downloading.
If you can verify that the item you are downloading is from a reliable source then there should be no issues. If you were to pirate or download items from an unreliable source you could potentially put yourself at risk.
Being that vendor items are protected so you can not view the code this is all the more reason to research what you are downloading before you download and install it.
Please let me know if I may be of additional assistance.JesseNinjaTrader Customer Service
