NinjaTrader Stalls

Hey Guys, I was working on a strategy for the last few days and lately ninjatrader has been stalling. Started while backtesting and optimizing... sometimes did it, sometimes it did not. 20 minutes ago it happened while compiling. now it happened starting a chart...

any ideas?

Thank you for your post.

Each time you compile a strategy and then backtest it, the instance of the strategy is saved in memory. It is advised to restart NinjaTrader after changing your strategy code and then run your backtest.

In addition, you can comment out any drawing objects, printing or logging that is performed in your code to help improve performance during backtesting.

I cleared the memory before starting the strategy...
Is it possible that a unirenko bar type may be causing it?
I installed it and started doing that, i just uninstalled it and improved performance, at least now i can backtest...

Thank you for your response.

I would not say it is certainly the custom bar type. However, in your testing if you find the Renko from NinjaTrader works or even the Tick, then you can test for more scenarios with the custom bar type. Testing can include reducing the date range to improve the performance. You can also contact the developer for any information they may have on backtesting their custom bar type.
