Autotrade with Forex.com practice account

Is there a way to setup NT to submit trades to forex.com practice account?

I tried using the "Testing" mode under Gain account connection but I wasn't able to login.

Hi VitaminC,

You can only trade accounts upon using a live license with NinjaTrader, even if it is a demo account with your broker. However, you can trade the sim 101 account using the simulation license.

In addition, you can create a demo account connection with Gain using the instructions below.

Start NinjaTrader

Click on Tools>Account Connections

Click Add (to create a new connection)

Name your connection>Select Gain as your feed>Backup datafeed is none
Leave the username and password blank and set the mode to Demo

Click next and finish the wizard

To connect go to File>Connect and then select the connection you just created

I think I have the same question but let me add a wrinkle.
If I set up a Gain account I know that I can then use Ninja trader for free live trading with Gain.
Do you know if after I go live with Gain can I submit orders to their practice server using Ninja?
I want to use their actual order server but in $0 practice mode instead of the Ninja simulated order server.

The impression I have is that once I fund an account with them that I no longer can access their "practice" server and that maybe it is not even a full server with a API that Ninja can talk to.

I have emailed them this question weeks ago and never heard back.

Hi,

You should be able to do this when you create your GAIN Demo account. Have you already tried this?

Yes, I have a Gain practice account and using it's name and password in my Ninja Gain connection I cannot connect to Gain.

I just retested it. It won't connect in either Ninja "Test" or "Live" modes.
I also made sure I could connect to Gain with their software and I can.

I have attached a picture of the error message.
Am I still missing something?

Hi,

This means your account is not set up correctly on GAINs end and still needs to be re-branded for use with NinjaTrader.
