transfer workspace to new computer

I just got a new computer and transferred all my documents including Ninja Trader docs, but not able to get the proper workspace with all my charting from old computer into new Ninja control panel. What am I missing?.. thanks

There are several ways to proceed, if you wish to transfer all your Ninja documents from one to another computer.

(1) Install NinjaTrader on your new PC (fresh install). Then make a backup with NinjaTrader via File -> Utilities -> Backup on your old machine. Copy the backup file to the new computer. Restore the settings via File -> Utilities -> Restore.

(2) Only if (1) did not work, then you can manually copy some - but not all - of the files to your new PC.

Here is where the files are located:

Indicators: Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> bin -> Custom -> Indicator
Strategies: Documents -> NinjatTrader 7 -> bin -> Custom -> Strategy
Bar types: Documents -> NinjatTrader 7 -> bin -> Custom -> Type
Chart templates: Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> templates -> Chart
Market analyzer templates: Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> templates -> MarketAnalyzer
Workspaces: Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> workspace
Market data (daily): Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> db -> day
Market data (minute): Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> db -> minute
Market data (tick): Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> db -> tick
Market data (replay): Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> db -> data


Master data that cannot be copied, if you do not do a restore as per (1):

- instrument settings (additional instruments, rollover data)
- session templates

You need to enter these manually.

Assemblies should be reinstalled on the new machine.
