Do the VolumeProfile and BuySellVolume Indicators need Level II?

Dear NinjaTrader team,


I really like the idea of Ninjatrader's @VolumeProfile and @BuySellVolume indicators, however they only plot Negative (Red) or neutral (grey - VolumeProfile), I have never seen the indicators show a Buy (Lime colour).


I understand the indicators plot by analyzing bids and asks in real-time. At the moment I am using the FX Gain feed but I think it only gives the spot price, bid and ask sizes are always equal to 1, maybe that is why I never see Buys (Lime).


The Questions

1. If I upgrade to one of the Kinetick FX feeds on offer such as Tenfore, will these indicators finally show BUY (Lime colour)?
2. Do these indicators need a Level 2 feed in order to work? I.e CME 6e Euro?
3. Is it possible for a tick based VolumeProfile that would show for upticks and down ticks?
4. Can I donate to Ninjatrader (Paypal) as I don't have the full version yet?

Thank you for your post.

1. I'm not 100% positive about this but will need to wait to the markets open to test this out.
However, I would expect the Green to show as the indicator due use Bid and Ask data for plots.

2. They do not require level 2 data to work.

3. Yes, however this will need to be custom developed as an indicator

I just tried Tenfore feed and Futures 6e Euro FX.


The indicators only work properly with Level 2
