workspace - strategies

Hello,

I want to ask how it is possible having strategies with a workspace open and closed. An example to explain what I mean:

lets say during the night I want to trade forex and I have a workspace with forex-charts and strategies for forex instruments.
When future markets open then I close the forex workspace (to open the workspace with my futures charts afterwards). But after closing the workspace with forex charts there are still the forex-strategies in the strategies tab.

How can it be done so that the related strategies open and close with the workspace (instruments)?

Hello Tony,

Unfortunately this is not supported. You cannot save automated strategies per workspace.

thank you for your reply. Tested it and it seems when saving the workspace with charts and opening a clear one, then switching back to the workspace and closing it then the strategies are closed as well. When opening the other workspace with charts the related strategies appear in the tab.

I was really very interested in workspace sharing but not having experience earlier in this.I would like to get experienced with this. Could you please produce some more attachments for the more detailed view.

Hello libertkewp,

Workspaces are saved at the location below.

C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->(My) Documents--> NinjaTrader 7-->workspaces

Workspace files use the .xml file extension. You can copy the files to the folder above while NinjaTrader is shut down. Subsequently start NinjaTrader and you can open the workspace at Control Center-->File-->Workspaces-->Open Workpsace.
