Gain/Esignal Connection problem

Today I received my password For eSignal Forex Charts
to be used as historical data feed to my GAIN account

History backfill for range charts isn't working, it takes forever to load a range chart and NinjaTrader freezes ( same for tick charts)

It is working properly for backfilling minute/daily/weekly and monthly charts

connection process :
1* I connect to my GAIN account first as I want my brokers feed to trade of
2* I connect to eSignal for backfill that isn't available from GAIN

Any idea what I'm doing wrong here or what the cause could be ?

How much historical tick data did you request? I requested 5 days back and it really took some time, maybe 3 minutes. This is expected as eSignal tick data for currencies seems to take quite a bit of time.

Indeed the problem was related to requesting to much data

But now I'm seeing a different problem, the refresh data can't be used ( see screenshot)
Is this normal behavior for eSignal's tick data refresh ?
I'm aware of the option to use the NinjaTrader servers but those do not cover all symbols
As I connect to eSignal, charts are reloaded and and clutter up my charts

Hi nico_p,

I am not sure what you mean by refresh data. Are you pressing F5 on your charts? Or are you going into Tools->Historical Data->Reload. You should have no problem reloading your data from eSignal.

I'm not doing any of the 2 options you are stating below,
I'm connected to GAIN, the as I make a second connection ALL charts in my workspace
get automaticly refreshed
afterwards the charts look like the screenshot I posted

Yes this is normal since the eSignal historical rate data comes from a different source and is not GAIN's actual rate data. So if you run a chart for 2 hours in real-time built from incoming GAIN rate data, then restart NT, NT will reload the current days historical data from eSignal (in your case) which will create a completely different looking chart than before. If this is not acceptable, do not use eSignal and use NinjaTrader servers which records GAIN rate data. You can set this option under Tools > Account Connections.
