hi, if I am trying to connect to Rithmic from behind a firewall and need to enable ports. Can you provide any information on which ports need to be enabled for Ninja to work in this way?

For IQFeed, for most scenarios, you can simply open up the following two subnets and port ranges for each:

66.112.156.XXX ports 5000 - 5050 and 60000 - 60050
66.112.148.XXX ports 5000 - 5050 and 60000 - 60050

If that does not work for your setup, here's the needed info in greater detail -

1st 'farm' :

66.112.156.210 - 66.112.156.213 ports 5000, 5001, 5005, 5009, 5018, 5020, 5050, 60000, 60001, 60005, 60009, 60018, 60020,

I feel really stupid but I do not know what these numbers have to do with a firewall. I was expecting an IP and a port type(udp or tcp) and a number or range of numbers.

You are right I forgot to spec the port. Amended that and also added the IP range in the subnet mask would represent.
