connecting to IB

Hello,

By the connecting to IB (Interactive Brokers) I have a Problem to add a Stock Symbol.

In the first I add it to the Instrument-List (Instument-Manager)
Than add the Symbol to the Market-Ananalyzer. I have no data in Market-Ananalyzer
and a Errormassage (historical Data....)

Errormessage:

Error on loading chart data for "ABX Default": Connect_to_IB: Error in
requesting historical data from IB: It was not found a Securitiy Definition
for your inquiry(200)

I have test this with the Symbol "ABX" (NYSE) - IB Connection (Trader Workstation)

I have tryed the Historical Data Manager (Reload All) Button, but this not helps.
What can I do?

Thank you for your note.Here are the written and video instructions on how to add an instrument from TWS, this uses SPY as an example.

* Enter the instrument in TWS, e.g. SPY

* Right click the instrument in TWS select Contract Info -> Details -> The Interactive Brokers symbol website will open.

* Take note of the BOLD exchange in the list, e.g. ARCA

* Open the NinjaTrader Control Center

* Tools -> Instrument Manager

* Search for the instrument to make sure that it is not part of the list or the name is not taken.

* Press 'New'

* Fill in the Master Instrument with the instrument label, e.g. SPY

* In the exchanges menu, check 'Default' and check the exchange that was BOLD on the IB website (ARCA).

* On the 'Misc' tab, scroll to the Interactive Brokers field under the Symbol Map section. Set this field to the same symbol it is in TWS.

* Press 'OK'

* Use the '<' Arrow to add it to your Default List.

Hello Cameron,

thank you for your reply.
I have done, but it is not working.

ABX is in Nyse and I have checkt (x Default and x Nyse)
The Misc are nothing in other Symbols. Exmaple "AA ALCOA " is running.

In the Misc tab, scroll to the Symbol Mapping section and ensure that ABX is set in the Interactive Brokers section

Need help conneting to Interactive Brokers data feed

Hello,

I am getting rejection message after setting up the the IB as data feed. I don't know what I have done wrong. Is there any video or instruction somewhere to lead me through the various steps? Thanks.

Login failed: IB Adapter. MessageLoop No Connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Thank you for the update.

The following work-around typically allows the connection to take place

1. Open TWS. In menu bar click Configure and proceed as outlined below:
2. Global Configuration–> ConfiguraDtion--> Display-->Settings
3. On the right panel in "Titlebar text" there is a edit box.
4. Enter following into it:

1. Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation

5. Next, click on Configuration–> Display–> Style
6. Check the setting: Use system title bar (Change requires a restart).
