Hello moonlight,

You will need to select the instrument in the Data Series window you want to open a chart for.

Please see the link below for information on opening a chart.

To have the instrument listed in the Default instrument list you will need to add the instrument to the list.

You can do this by going to Tools > Instrument Manager, searching for the instrument, selecting it, clicking the < button and OK.
