Virtual Private Server configuration for Automated Trading

Hello

I am looking at getting a VPS to run my automation on and am looking for the best setup for my situation.

In the beginning I expect that I will be running automation on 3 currency pairs and therefore will have 3 charts running.

Are the minimum requirements given for NinjaTrader good enough to run automation on 3 currency pairs? Or should I be looking at getting something more?

If those requirements are perfectly acceptable, what is the threshold where the minimum requirements are no longer valid and somebody should look at getting something more in order to avoid any latency in the operating system?

jg123, generally that's good decision to improve latency and connection. Just be sure to check where you are located with your VPS and that you pick an optimal location close to your mostly traded exchange. For the currency futures that would be CME / Globex.

With your setup I would start with the minimum and test the setup, most provides run a slimmer OS version that's only dedicated then to NT and trading use, so I would expect a lower footprint of resources needed. Plus you can normally upgrade relatively easily if you need more (be sure to check that part with your provider).
