    Problem using IB Gateway

    Hello,
    When I use Ib gateway I get the error in the attachment. Using full stand alone TWS all works fine.

    I checked settings in Gateway and all looks good.

    I use ninja 7, windows 7 64 bit, and TWS version is the one listed under ninja connection instructions.

    Any idea what might be causing it?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

    Unfortunately, connecting through the gateway is not supported at this time. As it stands you must use stand alone TWS build 938.1 with NinjaTrader's current version.

      Hi Kyle,

      I was able to connect a friend of mine this evening via IB Gateway. If it is not supported, how did it work then? Not sure what version of TWS software he has installed.

        Hello,

        Unfortunately, I am not sure why such a setup would work. The gateway was not what NinjaTrader was designed to work with.

          Strange, I have seen multiple posts on ninja forum from other people who also made it work. May be anyone else can pitch in.

            RedDuke, yes I'm aware of customers who made this work as well, however officially we would not support that type of setup yet, so if you run into any issues we would not be able to assist / troubleshoot if there's chances the connection type is involved. However connecting through that route is certainly noted strongly on our enhancement lists for consideration in development of our next major platform update. Perhaps those items from a fellow user on this setup can help?
