contract month letters

Fairly simple question regarding the lettering of contract months:

F January
G February
H March
J April
K May
M June
N July
Q August
U September
V October
X November
Z December

The above list works for Natural Gas, and it seems to work for at least most of the contracts I follow, but my question is this:
Is this lettering system universal across all future contracts?

By the way, Ninjatrader doesn't seem to list the letter of the month anywhere on the chart or even the control panel. Why is that?

Thank you for your post.

NinjaTrader does not use this type of format. Only dated expires like ES 06-14 are used within NinjaTrader.
