    Use of the merge function

    Hi,

I tried to use the merge function to build a continuous contract on the Dax by merging the data from the march contract into the june contract. At this point Esignal feed is disconnected and the merge function works ok.
But when I reconnect to Esignal, it downloads the data for the June contract and then erase everything (I use a daily chart to check).

    Any way to prevent that?

    Thanks

When you reconnect, make sure that your start date on the chart is greater than the first day of historical data in that instrument. See if this makes a difference.

Doesn't make any difference, it reloads all data... Is it possible to use the FDAX ##-## to build a continuous contract?
      Or any other way?

      Thanks

Yes, you can also use "##-##" as the expiry date to create a continuous contract. Please go to Tools-->Instrument Manager, highlight the FDAX and set Expiry to "##-##" and add it to your instrument list.

Create a chart for this contract and for example request a whole year of data and it should display in your chart.

But it doesn't work with Esignal, I can't request data for the FDax contract with "##-##" as expiry date...

            Hi,

That is correct. It doesn't work for Eurex contracts. This is a limitation of eSignal.

Open charts for FXDAX June, March, December contracts etc... Then use our merge function to merge December into March then March into June etc..

Ok this is what I did, look at the attachments, but when I reopen a chart for the dax future I still have the same without the merged data...

Any ideas? This is seriously annoying not to be able to have a continuous contract...

                  Thanks

Please try removing all data with the Delete tool and then merge new data into it. See if that helps.

Ok I've done it, it worked but when I connect to Esignal it downloads the data again and it comes as before!
And even merged I wasn't able to merge the whole serie...
So again, is there a way to merge the data?

                      Thanks

Perhaps try creating your own instrument and merge data into it as you see fit. This way eSignal won't write over it when you connect.
